- In 2002, the merger of the DePaul Business Law Journal, published by DePaul University College of Law, and the Commercial Law Journal, published by the Commercial Law League of America (CLLA), created the DePaul Business and Commercial Law Journal.
- Founded in 1895, the CLLA is the oldest organization of attorneys and other experts in credit and finance actively engaged in the fields of commercial law, bankruptcy, and reorganizations. Prior to the merger, the CLLA had been publishing articles focused on commercial and bankruptcy law topics for nearly 100 years.
- The U.S. News and World Report ranks the DePaul University College of Law among the 100 best law schools and is part of the nation's eighth largest private nonprofit university.
